**Bhubaneswar:** The presence of mind as well as prompt action of an alert gateman at Balugaon Level Crossing could avert a train mishap here on Tuesday. The goods train, reportedly got derailed between Balugoan and Chilika stations. The on-duty gateman of Balugaon Level Crossing, B. K. Sethi spotted a problem in a specific wagon of the goods train carrying dolomite from Biramitrapur in Sundergarh district to Visakhapatnam Steel Plant and alerted the locopilots who immediately stopped the train at around 11:55 am, a railway official informed.
No casualty has been reported in the incident. Accident Relief Train with manpower from Khurda Road rushed to the spot for restoration work.
The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has decided to felicitate the three prompt and alert staff, locopilot S.N. Patnaik, co-locopilot S.K. Sahoo and Sethi for showing their promptness in averting the accident, at its headquarters on Wednesday.
