Bhubaneswar: Amid the ongoing rumours and confusion about Wanna Cry Ransomware attack, Odisha IT Minister Chandra Sarathi Behera has said that awareness is the key to tackle the cyber attack and the government is going to launch an awareness campaign very soon in this regard.
After a high level meeting at the state secretariat, the Minister said, “With a greater awareness this situation can be tackled. We have already issued a guideline to which will help the institutions and the individuals protect themselves from cyber attack. We are looking forward to make the message simpler and publish it on newspapers.”
He also assured that the Government is taking ‘adequate measures’ to tackle the situation.
“Ransomware attack is a global problem. Senior officials are closely monitoring situation for appropriate action,” he added.
Meanwhile, a special team of the Cyber Police, Crime Branch have started investigation into the cyber attack on computers of Berhampur City Hospital, and community health centre at Purushottampur which occurred on May 15.
