Cuttack: After eight days of intensive search, the Commissionerate Police finally rescued the minor girl who was gang raped by five persons including her boyfriend.
The 17-year-old girl was rescued from a house at Samantrapur under Dhauli police station in Odisha capital on Monday, police said.
The victim, who went missing since November last year from Cuttack, was found taking training at tailoring shop in the city.
Basing on the statement of the victim girl, the city police has also arrested one more accused Dhirendra Rout (19) taking the total number of arrested persons to five.
According to police, the statement of the victim will be recorded under 164 CrPc on Tuesday. The girl will be handed over to her family tomorrow (Tuesday) after conducting medical examination, police added.
“We have rescued the girl from a house under Dhauli police station area. She was staying in Bhubaneswar for the last three months,” said Cuttack DCP Sanjeev Arora.
Speaking in detail about how the girl landed up in the city, police said she was staying at the house of her cousin at Khapuria in Cuttack after the incident and was looking for a job.
During that time she met with Anjum Akhtar, wife of Salim, who had taken her to her tailoring shop in Bhubaneswar.
Notably, the girl was allegedly in a relationship with the main accused and had gone to stay with her. During her stay, the accused along with his elder brother, uncle and his friend had allegedly gang raped her many times at various places and had recorded the sexual assault in their mobile phones.
The matter came to fore when her brother-in-law had filed an FIR at Badambadi police station on March 18 alleging his minor sister-in-law was kidnapped, raped and blackmailed.
