Bhubaneswar: Newly appointed Director General of Police (DGP) of Odisha, Sunil Kumar Bansal reaffirmed Odisha Police’s commitment to help and serve the poor, marginalized, needy, and helpless and people of the tribal communities residing in remote areas of the State.
“We rededicate ourselves to help and serve the poor, marginalized, needy, helpless and people of the tribal communities residing in remote areas of the State with commitment and sincerity and expect to meet up to their expectation level,” stated Bansal extending his good wishes to the people of the State on the occasion of the New Year in a video message.
The DGP said that the Odisha Police will try to deliver the best service to the people of the State.
Bansal gave a clear message to act tough against offenders of the law, organized crime, and those involved in drug smuggling or any other crime as per provisions of the law in a manner that the security of citizens is further strengthened.
The DGP reaffirmed Odisha Police’s commitment to the role played by it in the fight against Covid-19.
The 1987 batch IPS officer took the charge from outgoing DGP Abhay whose two-year tenure ended on Friday.
Bansal was on Central deputation and served as Special Director, Intelligence Bureau (IB), before being appointed for the top police post by the State government on December 15.
