Bhubaneswar: The premises of a hotel and its neighbourhood in Puri town has been declared as Micro-Containment Zone by the district administration after a tourist and two staff were found infected with the Omicron variant of Covid-19.
Reportedly, samples of a tourist and two staff of the hotel in Ward No. 11 of Puri had been sent for genome sequencing after they had tested positive for Covid-19. After the reports confirmed the presence of Omicron, the area was declared as Micro-Containment Zone.
Puri Sub-Collector Bhabataran Sahu said that samples of those with symptoms are being collected. He urged people should wear masks and adhere to the Covid guidelines.
