Bhubaneswar: Folks get your raincoats and umbrellas out lest you get drenched when Covid cases are rising, as India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast enhanced rainfall activity in Odisha over the next four days beginning Tuesday.
Under the influence of a trough running from induced cyclonic circulation over north Haryana to south-east Madhya Pradesh at 0.9 km above the mean sea level, thunderstorm with lightning along with light to moderate rainfall is very likely today at some districts of interior Odisha, the IMD said.
Also light to moderate rainfall activity is very likely to occur at many places, during 11-14th January over districts of Odisha due to anticipated western disturbance towards eastern India and strong moisture incursion from Bay Bengal, it added.
Further, isolated thunderstorm accompanied with hail and heavy rain is likely to occur in some districts of Odisha from 11th to 14th January 2022, the IMD further said.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of north interior Odisha, at a few places over the districts of south interior Odisha, and at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha, the Met dept said in its forecast.
Yellow Warning (Be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nawarangpur, Nuapada, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj.
Day-2(valid from 0830 hrs IST of 11.01.2022 to 0830 hrs IST of 12.01.2022):
Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of north interior Odisha and at many places over the rest of the districts of Odisha.
Yellow Warning (Be updated): Thunderstorm accompanied with hail is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Sonepur, Bolangir, Boudh, Kalahandi, and Angul. Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, and Sonepur.
