Sundargarh: A herd of around 22 elephants damaged a house and consumed the harvested crop at Jhirpani village under Kiringsera gram panchayat in Kutra block of Sundargarh district yesterday.
Reportedly, the elephants broke into the house of one Albis Ekka last night. They ransacked the house and consumed the paddy and other crops before returning to the nearest forest.
As per villagers, the elephant herd is wreaking havoc in the village for over one month by damaging houses and property. Many people have also lost their lives after being attacked by elephants.
