Berhampur: A bloodied group clash broke out in Babanpur village in Khambhari Gaon panchayat in Ganjam district on Thursday morning.
Four persons have sustained injuries following the incident while one, Palina Nukaya (29) has been grievously wounded.
Nukaya has been shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital and his condition is stated to be serious.
According to reports, Nukaya and others had come to the Panchayat office along with other villagers for filing nominations for the rural polls.
On their way back near a stone quarry, the group was attacked with sharp weapons by their opponents. Jarada police have registered a case and launched a manhunt for the assailants.
