Shillong: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday, a day after he and his Assam counterpart Himanta Biswa Sarma held a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on the inter-state border disputes.
Sangma, who has tested positive for the second time, urged people who have come in contact with him to isolate themselves and get tested if necessary.
“I have tested positive for Covid-19. I am isolating myself for the required time. I have mild symptoms. All those who came into contact with me in the last few days are requested to observe their symptoms and test if necessary,” he tweeted.
The Chief Minister also did not attend the 50th Statehood function at Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Complex on Friday as he kept in isolation after he started developing symptoms of a cold.
Sangma, who is also the President of the ruling National People’s Party (NPP), also earlier took part in various meetings and campaigns in poll-bound Manipur.
