Rourkela: The Jhirpani police here on Tuesday registered a FIR over a complaint filed by a woman BJP worker Gouri Mundari of Jagda area. The woman has alleged that she was abused over telephone by Sundergarh MP and former Union Minister Jual Oram.
According to the complaint, Mundari had called Oram during the evening on Monday and requested his support for the upcoming Panchayat polls. “I had come to know that the MP will be coming to Rourkela on January 24. I called to know about the schedule, but was abused,” she mentioned in the complaint.
In this connection, the Jhirpani police have registered a FIR under Sections 294 and 509 of the IPC and investigating further.
