Malkangiri: The BJP’s Zilla Parishad Member candidate from Zone II in Kalimela block Rina Kabasi who had allegedly gone missing has been traced.
Malkangiri district police through an official press note issued today evening has informed that Kabasi’s location was traced at around 8.00 PM today.
“She is found safe and upon enquiry it was ascertained that she had gone there of her own will and volition,” the press note said.
No foul play regarding her absence is found in the case, it added.
The BJP had lodged a written complaint at the Kalimela police station regarding Kabasi allegedly going missing.
Earlier in the day, Rabi Shankar Patnaik, senior advocate and State Co-Coordinator Election Control Room and State Legal Convenor BJP, Odisha Pradesh Committee had lodged a written report alleging that Kabasi had gone missing since January 24.
Following Patnaik’s report, Kalimela police had registered a case and commenced enquiry in the matter.
Police have stated that Kabasi’s mobile phone was switched off since January 24.
Police said no complaint was received from Kabasi’s parents or family members regarding her going missing.
