Bhubaneswar: A fully armed 19-member team led by Additional DCP PC Pal was pressed into action to crack the case of kidnapping for ransom which was reported at Laxmi Sagar police station, a few days back.
Briefing about the case, and the manner in which the young victim was rescued from the clutches of criminals unhurt, DCP Uma Shankar Dash thanked the father of the boy for showing confidence in the police and reporting the matter.
The four accused in this case were not from one place. They have moved around Odisha for 800 kilometres in a couple of days. One of the accused was the schoolmate-friend of the victim and provided all vital information to the kidnappers, said Dash.
“This boy was remaining elusive from the victim due to the fear of getting identified. However, after he was rescued, the boy identified his friend-cum-kidnapper. We will seek police remand of the accused to investigate the case further,” the DCP added.
