Bhubaneswar: The State Election Commission (SEC) has been all through emphasizing on free, fair, and smooth conduct of three-tier panchayat polls in the State.
The State Police and Excise Department officials from January 19 to February 6 have issued non-bailable warrants (NBW) against 1492 persons from various districts.
The NBWs have issued against persons on charges of hoarding of liquor, illegal possession of arms, possession of intoxicants, and violation of model code of conduct, said an official press note.
A total of 113686.19 lts of liquor, 27 arms, and 471.86 gm intoxicants have been seized during joint raids by the Police and Excise departments.
