Nuapada: A Sarpanch candidate of Sunarisikuan gram panchayat in Khariar block of Nuapada district was found in an unconscious state with his hands and legs tied on Saturday.
The Sarpanch candidate identified as Chulamani Baitharu had gone missing last night. He was found by locals nearly one kilometre from his house today morning.
Subsequently, he was rescued and admitted to Khariar hospital from where he was shifted to Bolangir. Meanwhile, Khariar Police have initiated a probe into the incident.
It is worthwhile to mention that the third phase panchayat polls are to be held at Sunarisikuan tomorrow.
