Bhubaneswar: Devotees were allowed to enter the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri today without the need to produce the Covid-19 vaccination or RT-PCR negative certificate.
It was possible as the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for management of situation arising out of Covid-19 pandemic with regard to Shree Jagannath Temple was revised during a meeting between the Chhatisha Nijog and the Niti Sub-Committee on February 14.
As per the revised SOP, public darshan will be permitted from 6 am to 9 pm, amid strict enforcement of COVID appropriate behaviour. The temple will remain closed for public darshan on all Sundays for sanitisation.
While devotees are no longer required to produce Covid-19 vaccination or RT-PCR negative certificate, there would be strict enforcement for ensuring Covid appropriate behaviour by all concerned.
A priority queue will be made operational for Senior citizen devotees and others, who are visiting the temple for darshan. A detailed guideline on this will be issued soon. Safe drinking water will be made available to the devotees as they wait in the queue.
