Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today assured to make all efforts for evacuation of Odisha students still stranded in Ukraine.
“I am relieved that you all have returned safely,” stated Patnaik in an online interaction with Odisha students at New Delhi who have returned from Ukraine.
Welcoming the Ukraine returnee Odisha students, Patnaik assured that all efforts will be made for the safe return of the students still stranded in Ukraine.
The Chief Minister informed that he had discussed with the Union Home and External Affairs Ministers for evacuation of Odia students from Ukraine and will again discuss with them and take steps accordingly.
Sharing their experience, the students said that they all crossed the Romanian border and accompanied by Indian officials went to Bucharest and from there flew to New Delhi.
The students stated that the Resident Commissioner at New Delhi was always in contact with them through online.
Informing that several Odia students are still stranded especially in Kharkiv , the Ukraine returnee students requested for taking steps for their safe return.
The Chief Minister directed for opening a help desk at Mumbai airport for students returning from Ukraine.
The Chief Minister further directed for dropping the students at their homes by OTDC buses after their arrival in Bhubaneswar.
During the interaction, Chief Secretary Suresh Mahapatra and Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradip Jena were present.
Secretary to Chief Minister (5T) VK Pandian coordinated the interaction.
