Cuttack: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has named actor Sritam Das as its Mayor Candidate for Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC). The senior Odia film actor had joined the saffron party in February 2014. He made his Ollywood debut with the film Sabitri in 1995.
Earlier, the Congress announced vice-president of Odisha Pradesh Mahila Congress, Giribala Behera as its candidate for CMC Mayor’s post. The Biju Janata Dal candidate for Cuttack Mayor’s post is Rajya Sabha MP Subash Chandra Singh.
There are 59 wards and 452 booths in the CMC. The State Election Commission (SEC) had earlier announced elections to 106 ULBs and three Municipal Corporations on March 24 and counting on March 26.
