Bhubaneswar: A well marked low pressure area is likely to form over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining south Andaman Sea on Saturday, intensify into a depression in the subsequent 24 hours, and a cyclonic storm on March 21.
As per the India Meteorological Department, the low pressure area over southeast Bay of Bengal moved east-northeastwards and now lies over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining south Andaman Seas & east Equatorial Indian Ocean.
It is likely to continue to move east-northeastwards, become a well marked low pressure area and lie over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining south Andaman Sea on the morning of March 19.
Thereafter, it is likely to move nearly northwards along and off Andaman & Nicobar Islands, intensify into a depression by the morning of March 20, and into a cyclonic storm on March 21.
Thereafter, it is likely to move nearly north-northeastwards and reach near Bangladesh-north Myanmar coasts around the morning of March 22.
