Bhubaneswar: The car of Sarmistha Rout, the prime accused in the kidnapping and murder of cameraman Manas Swain, has been found parked in the garage of an apartment in Bhubaneswar.
A special team of Chandbali Police, who is probing the case, is to arrive at the capital city for inspection of the vehicle. It is suspected that the car was used for the kidnapping of Manas.
So far six persons have been arrested in this case, including former OIS officer Niranjan Sethi and Sarmistha’s brother.
The other persons arrested in this case are Ranjan Nayak, proprietor of Raj Communication of Khandagiri, Bibek Nayak and Bhagyadhar Nayak of Khandagiri, and Krushna Chandra Nayak.
Sarmistha, the Editor of Odia fortnightly ‘Sampurna’, and her associate Jhuna Bhoi are still on the run. Police is carrying out raids at multiple places to trace them.
