Bhubaneswar: A three-day training programme on ‘School Leadership’ organised by the Mo School Abhiyan was inaugurated here on Friday. The programme focuses on unleashing the leadership potential of Head Teachers posted in 100 High Schools across the State.
As many as 36 Head Teachers from Central Zone participated in the inaugural day of the training intended at orienting the stakeholders towards a learning and target-centric culture in the schools. Experts from diverse fields imparted training to the participants at the event.
Appreciating the role of Head Teachers, Mo School Programme Officer, Abhinash Satpathy said that they play a pivotal role in effective management of school affairs and imparting quality education to students. “Mo School is committed to providing equal importance to infrastructure development and academic enrichment in government and government-aided schools of Odisha.”
The three-day residential training programme will be conducted in as many revenue zones – Central, South and North zone. The training programme for Central Zone, inaugurated on Friday here at the Gopabandhu Academy of Administration, Bhubaneswar will conclude on March 27.
The South Zone training programme will commence from March 28, at Koraput Government Girls High School campus and the North Zone programme will be held at District Institute of Education & Training (DIET) Sambalpur from March 31, Mo School officials informed.
“The training programme is being conducted in collaboration with People for Action as the knowledge and technical partner. The schools were selected in due consultation with respective district education offices, with a focus on heritage schools, schools with regular headteachers and schools adopted by eminent mentors,” added Satpathy.
Launched by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in November 2017, Mo School Abhiyan has become one of the largest alumni contribution programmes in India. The ‘100 Schools’ programme of ‘Mo School Abhiyan’ has been focusing on the holistic development of select High Schools with the representation of at least three institutions from each district.
