New Delhi: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today urged his party MPs to give foremost importance to the State’s interest.
Taking part in the BJD parliamentary party meeting, Patnaik asked party MPs to raise issues pertaining to Odisha’s interest in both the houses of the parliament.
Patnaik who is on a three-day visit here was welcomed by BJD MPs on his arrival at the parliament.
The Chief Minister has plans to meet Central Ministers of various departments to discuss issues pertaining to the State.
Issues like the lifting of residual par-boiled rice from Odisha by the Centre, provision of houses under AWAS scheme, increasing of the State share in coal royalty, Central assistance for building disaster resilient infrastructure, etc are likely to figure during Patnaik’s meeting with Central Ministers.
That apart, payment of arrears, provision of telephone service in remote areas, and opening of banks in panchayats not having bank branches are also likely to be discussed by Patnaik with the Central Ministers.
