Bhubaneswar: Banks across the country will remain closed for five consecutive days starting from April 1 and for 15 days in the entire month on account of the end of the financial year, various festivals, and weekends.
According to the calendar released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banking services will remain shut on April 1 to enable banks to close their yearly accounts.
On April 2, banks will remain closed in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Manipur, Jammu and Kashmir, and Goa due to Gudi Padwa/Ugadi Festival/1st Navratra/Telugu New Year’s Day/Sajibu Nongmapanba (Cheiraoba).
While April 3 is Sunday a weekly holiday, banks will remain closed in Jharkhand on April 4 due to Sarhul, and in Telangana on April 5 on account of Babu Jagjivan Ram’s birthday.
