Nilagiri: Seven students residing at a private hostel here took ill after consuming dinner on Thursday evening.
These students have been admitted to the Sub Divisional Hospital here after their health condition deteriorated.
According to reports, the students fell sick after they consumed rice and curry made of soya chunks served to them for dinner at the Sai Ganesh Hostel.
The students were allegedly served curry made out of soya chunks, the packet of which carried an expiry date of December 5, 2013.
However, the owner of the Sai Ganesh Hostel, Jayadev Behera has said that the boarders had fallen sick due to the hot and humid weather prevailing in the area.
