Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) candidate Nibedita Jena has emerged victorious in the Chairperson election at Dhamnagar Notified Area Council (NAC).
The BJD has also won in nine out of 11 wards of Dhamnagar NAC, while BJP has won in the remaining two wards.
The counting of votes of all wards was held today as per the notification issued by the State Election Commission (SEC).
It is pertinent to mention here that fresh polling (re-poll) was held in booth no.03 (Ward no.02), booth nos. 8 & 9 (Ward no.5), booth no.16 (Ward no.9), booth no.17,18 (Ward no. 10) of Dhamnagar NAC yesterday.
Counting of votes in all wards for Councillor and Chairperson of Dhamnagar NAC had been postponed by the SEC on March 25 as the election could not be held in the aforementioned booths due to disruption on the day of the poll.
