Bhubaneswar: Odisha over the last few years has taken massive strides in business and industry, transforming itself into a land of opportunities. The overall improvement in governance mechanism through our transformative 5T model has made Odisha a top destination for new investments, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said on Saturday.
Addressing the maiden edition of Transforming Odisha 2022 Conclave, Naveen said that Odisha has taken massive strides in business and industry in the last few years, transforming itself into a land of opportunities. Odisha has been able to attract new investments of over Rs 2 lakh crore across multiple sectors even during the challenging COVID pandemic, he said.
“Our conducive industrial policy supported by an enabling environment and dedicated teams, Odisha has brought about a massive change in the industrial eco-system of the State attracting investors and entrepreneurs from all across the world. We are not only an emerging as a manufacturing hub of eastern India, but the resurgent Odisha is also on the path of scripting new success stories in other spheres,” the CM stated.
Naveen expressed happiness over the contribution of the Electronics and IT Department which he said is turning into a critical enabler for ensuring citizen-centric governance aiming at delivering most of the services at the doorsteps of the people.
“The Department is introducing some pathbreaking technological reforms to reduce physical interface for availing Government services. To reduce the regulatory burden on industries, new end-to-end online systems from over 30 Government-to-business services have been developed by various departments of the State.”
Post-pandemic, the State Government has come up with Odisha Electronics Manufacturing Policy, Odisha Data Centre Policy, and Odisha BPO Policy to regulate the IT landscape in the State. These brand new policies are the best in the country in terms of providing support and incentives to the industries, said Naveen.
Odisha’s IT export has also witnessed an upward swing clocking over Rs 4,000 crore, said Naveen wishing the organisers of the conclave, Economic Times, ET Government and Departments of the State Government, and other stakeholders, success for Transforming Odisha 2022.
