Bhubaneswar: Innovative people-centric project “Disaster Assistance Monitoring and Payment System (DAMPS)” of the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC), Odisha, has received the 19th eGovernance award given by Computer Society of India in a national level function held on 23rd April at Prayagraj.
On behalf of the SRC, a team comprising Nabarangpur Collector Kamal Lochan Mishra, Joint Special Relief Commissioner Padmanav Behera, SRC office’s OSD Biswanath Sahoo, SIO Kabita Roy Das, and NIC Bhubaneswar Sr technical Director Lalatendu Dash, received the award.
DAMPS facilitates payment of exgratia to next of kin of persons losing their lives due to disasters in the shortest possible time. This absolutely paperless digital platform linking field-level revenue officials at the lowest level to the Government could provide disaster Assistance to the entitled citizens without any hassles.
The platform integrates the Crime and Criminal Tracking Networking System (CCTNS) police and IFMS of the Finance Department to transfer the assistance directly to the bank account of the beneficiary on DBT mode.
The project has been developed in technical collaboration with NIC Odisha State Centre, Bhubaneswar. The NIC team led by Kabita Roy Das and Lalatendu Dash facilitates the complex technical requirements of the sophisticated project.
The project started in June 2020 and till date more than Rs 200 crore has been disbursed to 5300 beneficiaries through DAMS.
