Bhubaneswar: The CBI has arrested a Constable of Delhi Police while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2 Lakh from a witness in a particular case. According to the agency, the witness was threatened by an EOW Inspector of Delhi Police, to be named as an accused if he fails to pay a bribe of Rs 4.50 lakh.
The deal was finally settled at Rs 4 lakh and the EOW Inspector sent a Constable to collect the money at Bhubaneswar airport on April 24. The individual informed the CBI about this demand following which a trap was laid and the Constable of Delhi police, Amit Lahucha was arrested today at Bhubaneswar airport.
Soon after the CBI officials nabbed the Delhi Police (EOW) Inspector, Sajjan Singh Yadav from the National Capital, on charges of bribery. “Searches are being conducted at the premises of the accused who will be produced before the Competent Court at Bhubaneswar,” the CBI stated.
