Bhubaneswar: Severe heatwave conditions prevailed in Odisha as four places in the State recorded maximum day temperatures of 44 degrees Celsius or more.
Similarly, 11 places recorded maximum day temperatures of 43 degrees or more.
Besides, as many as 24 places in the State recorded maximum temperatures of more than 40 degrees Celsius.
Sonepur recorded the day’s highest temperature of 44.5 degrees Celsius.
The Capital city of Bhubaneswar recorded a maximum temperature of 40.3 degrees Celsius, while its twin city Cuttack recorded a maximum temperature of 39.5 degrees Celsius.
The seaside town of Gopalpur was the coolest place in the State with 31.4 degrees Celsius followed by Puri with 33.0 and Paradip with 32.9 degrees Celsius.
