Bhubaneswar: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached assets to the tune of Rs 29.83 lakh, belonging to former Indian Forest Service officer Abhay Kant Pathak. The ED today informed that the action was taken against the ex-IFS officer ‘under PMLA for possessing assets disproportionate to his known source of income.’
The former IFS officer of Odisha cadre, Pathak was the Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (PCCF), Plan, Programme and Afforestation, with the State Government. Pathak and his son Akash were arrested by the State Vigilance on November 27, 2020, in connection with a DA case. In May 2021, he was compulsorily retired from service after the Centre approved the State Government’s recommendations.
