Bhubaneswar: Just a day ahead of International Workers’ Day, the Odisha government today issued a notification for payment of Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) at Rs 11.00 per day for unskilled, semi-skilled, skilled and highly skilled categories of employees in all 89 scheduled employments.
The VDA shall be payable with retrospective effect from April 1. It shall be payable in addition to the minimum rate of wages.
The notification was issued by Labour Commissioner, Odisha, N Thirumala Naik.
The minimum wages with VDA for unskilled employees shall be Rs 326.
Similarly, the minimum wages with VDA for Semi-Skilled employees shall be Rs 366.
Besides, the minimum wages for Skilled employees with VDA shall be Rs 416.
Further, the minimum wages with VDA for Highly Skilled employees with VDA shall be Rs 476.
The variable dearness allowance for the half-year commencing April 1, 2022, is required to be effected on the basis of the increase in average Consumer Price Index number for industrial workers reaching 357.65 from 345.21 as on December 31, 2021.
