Cuttack: The Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) has sent a notice for eviction of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) Deputy Mayor Damayanti Majhi’s house.
Damayanti’s house is located at Balisahi Slum in Jagatpur area in the city. The IDCO is set to start a drainage work in the area.
As the land where the slum exists belongs to IDCO, it has issued notices to over 20 families residing there to vacate the place by May 10.
While Damayanti did not give any comments on the issue, Mayor Subash Singh said IDCO issued the notice without informing the CMC. The slum could not be demolished without the permission of the CMC.
