Malkangiri: An Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police jumped into a river to save a teacher who was commiting suicide near Chitapari village under Orkel police limits in Malkangiri district.
Reportedly, a man of Kamaweda who is a teacher by profession attempted to commit suicide by jumping from Orkel-Chitapari bridge.
On getting information from locals, Orkel ASI Ajit Sarangi arrived there without delay and jumped into river and successfully brought him out alive.
Then the teacher was rushed to Balimela health centre. His condition is now reported to be stable, however, the exact cause behind him being suicidal is yet to be ascertained.
