Bhubaneswar: Odia actor and parliamentarian Anubhav Mohanty has received messages on WhatsApp from a person impersonating Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.
The Kendrapara MP informed the Lok Sabha Secretariat and Birla about this matter through a tweet, also to raise awareness among people to ignore and flag such fraud messages.
Mohanty shared screen prints of the messages with the tweet urging Cyber Cell to take strict action against the miscreants. “Such fraudulent calls, messages & people behind these have to be dealt with sterner hands,” he stated.
On Wednesday, Birla cautioned the public on this matter through a tweet. “Some miscreants have created fake account in my name with profile photo & sending messages to MPs & others from nos. 7862092008, 9480918183 & 9439073870. Matter has been reported to authorities concerned. Plz ignore calls/messages from these & other numbers & inform my office,” he stated.
One week back, the Vice President Secretariat cautioned the general public against a person who is impersonating as Venkaiah Naidy by sending WhatsApp messages and asking for financial help.
