Bhubaneswar: A two-day Familiarisation Training Programme for IAS Officer Trainees of the 2020 batch and IFoS Officers of the 2018 batch of Odisha Cadre on Anti-Corruption Matters was organized by Odisha Vigilance at the State Vigilance Academy here.
The training programme which began on Monday was inaugurated by Director Vigilance Y K Jethwa.
In his inaugural speech, Jethwa narrated the functioning of Odisha Vigilance and advised participants in the training programme on strategies to deal with corruption and enhance transparency in administration.
He hoped that this training will enhance their competence in preventive vigilance and preventing leakage in government expenditures.
He also appreciated the role of the State Vigilance Academy as a unique State level anti-corruption academic platform in the Country, in sharing knowledge on Anti-Corruption matters through regular seminars, workshops, deliberations and training modules.
The training programme included discussions on the PC Act, Preventive Vigilance, Role of CVO, the Lokayukta System in Odisha, Departmental action, procedures and the process of grant of sanctions in Vigilance cases.
Eminent Guest Resource Persons having vast experience and expertise namely Dr A K Pattnaik, former DGP, Vigilance; M Akhaya, former DGP, Fire Services, Home Guards and Civil Defence; Somanath Hansdah, CVO Nalco Bhubaneswar; Arindam Dakua, Director Special Project PR Department Government of Odisha, Debadutta Das Mohapatra, Director of Prosecution; Lokayukta, Odisha; H B Panda, Special Secretary, GA Department Government of Odisha and others interacted with the officers participating in the training at State Vigilance Academy.
