Cuttack: The body of a woman was found near the water tank at Krushak Bazaar under Bidanasi police limits in Cuttack city on Wednesday.
While the identity of the woman is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that she was raped and murdered.
On getting information, Bidanasi Police, DCP Pinak Mishra, and other senior officials along with the scientific team and dog squad reached the spot and initiated a probe.
As per sources, a vanity bag, slippers, a suicide note, and some other materials have been seized from the spot.
Whether she committed suicide or was murdered can be ascertained only after post-mortem, said DCP Mishra.
