Bhubaneswar: There was no respite from heat across the State with at least eight stations recording 40 degrees and above maximum temperature on Thursday.
Over the last few days, the maximum temperature has witnessed a drop, but high humidity across the State made conditions unbearable. The humidity level at many stations in Odisha was more than 70 per cent.
Several locations recorded moderately high daytime temperatures, but the humidity in the atmosphere made conditions worse. For example, while Bhubaneswar recorded a maximum temperature of 37 degrees, the humidity was 80 per cent.
Similar situation was witnessed in Cuttack where the maximum temperature recorded was 38 degrees, but the humidity level was 81 per cent.
According to the information shared by the IMD, the following places were the hottest today: Boudh (42.5), Sonepur (42.4), Titilagarh (41.8), Bolangir (41.2), Nuapada (41), Malkangiri (40.2), Sambalpur (40.2), and Parlakhemundi (40).
