Bhubaneswar: Hot and humid weather conditions prevailed across Odisha today as maximum temperature breached the 40-degree Celsius mark in 15 places.
Nine places recorded maximum temperatures above 43 degrees Celsius while Sonepur remained the hottest place in the State for the second consecutive day by recording a maximum temperature of 44.8 degrees Celsius, the highest recorded temperature of the day.
While most places in the western part of the State reeled under extreme heat, humidity made life miserable in the coastal areas.
The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded maximum temperatures of 37.2 degrees Celsius and 38.0 degrees Celsius respectively.
