Koraput: Nearly four tonne of ganja estimated to be around Rs 5 crore was seized from a salt-laden truck near Tikaput village under Lamtaput police limits in Koraput district on Thursday night.
Based on reliable input, a team of Lamtaput Police led by Nandapur SDPO intercepted the vehicle and seized the contraband that was stashed in 223 gunny sacks. It was reportedly being smuggled from Tikaput to Chhattisgarh.
Three persons were arrested by police while two others managed to flee from the spot. The arrestees have been identified as Sudarshan Lendur of Machkund in Odisha’s Koraput, and Umesh Babu and Singhpal of Uttar Pradesh.
