Bhubaneswar: Black marketing of tickets for the cricket match between India and South Africa at Barabati stadium has been reported. Sources said, black marketeers are selling tickets online at exorbitant prices.
The T-20 match between India and South Africa is scheduled on June 12. According to reports, miscreants are purchasing tickets in large numbers and advertising the same on buy/sell sites at high rates.
Tickets worth Rs 700 are sold for Rs 5,000 and those priced at Rs 900 are being sold for even a higher price. In the advertisement, a person can be seen holding more than 10 tickets when a person is entitled to buy only two tickets.
Offline tickets for the general public were made available at different counters of Barabati Stadium on June 9 and 10. Reports stated that the black marketeers procured the tickets by deploying women labourers at the ticket counter queues outside Barabati stadium. The women were least interested or knew about cricket or the match.
