Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate of Police has made watertight arrangements for security, law and order for the upcoming T-20 tie between India and South Africa scheduled on June 12 (Sunday).
Police Commissioner Saumendra Priyadarshi said that adquate number of police personnel have been deployed in the Twin City of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack for the event. Special arrangements have been done at Bhubaneswar, where the teams are staying at a star-hotel, and tight security is in place, in and around the venue (Barabati Stadium) at Cuttack.
“Every gallery will be manned by police personnel and no one will be allowed to take food items or water bottles inside the stadium. A quick action team will be deployed inside the venue to attend to any untoward situation,” said Priyadarshi.
Total 62 platoons force in Cuttack and 20 platoons force will be deployed in Bhubaneswar to manage the security, law and order. These forces will function under the supervision of 3 DCPs and 23 ACPs. Similarly, 41 Inspector-ranked officers will monitor the security apparatus, the Police Commissioner added.
