Bhubaneswar: Rescue operations are still underway to save the 11-year-old Rahul Sahu who fell into an 80-feet deep abandoned borewell at Pihrid village in Chhattisgarh’s Janjgir-Champa district on Friday.
According to reports, teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and state disaster response force (SDRF) are on the spot to extricate the child. Experts of the Indian Army are also on the spot to assist in the rescue operation.
Rahul fell into the abandoned borewell located in the backyard of his house around 2 pm on Friday.
As the operation is underway for over 19 hours now, it is reported that the ground is dug up to 50ft deep, and attempts are being made to dig a tunnel after the initial 60 to 65 feet.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel is continuously taking information about the rescue operations, reports further said.
