Sonepur: An yard stocked with PVC pipes at Langalakanta village in Beheramal panchayat caught fire on Sunday morning. The pipes meant for RWSS’ mega water project were gutted leading to the loss of property worth several crore rupees.
The dense and dark smoke billowing out of the stockyard made situations unbearable for commuters and locals in the region. The fire was caused due to burning of hay in the open fields in Langalakata village, reports stated.
Teams of fire service personnel from Dungurpali and Rampur were rushed to the spot to control the blaze and smoke. The local police was also at the spot to check crowding near the spot.
