Bhubaneswar: The IMD has predicted that thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur in 21 districts of Odisha during the next 24 hours. A yellow warning has been issued by the Met Department in this context for these 21 districts.
According to the IMD, thunderstorms with lightning are very likely to occur at one or two places over – Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nawarangpur, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Nuapada, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara Cuttack.
“Light to Moderate Rain or Thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Odisha,” the IMD stated.
According to the IMD, no large change in Maximum temperature (day temperature) is expected during next 24 hours. However, there will be a gradual fall by 3 to 4 degrees in the subsequent four days. Maximum temperature likely to be above normal by 3 to 4 degrees Celcius at a few places during next 24 hours.
Bhubaneswar is expected to witness partly cloudy sky with the possibility of Moderate Rain or Thunderstorm. The Maximum and Minimum temperature are very likely to be around 38 degrees and 28 degrees respectively.
The IMD stated, “Conditions are favorable for further advance of monsoon into some more parts of north Arabian sea, some more parts of Gujarat state, some parts of south Madhya Pradesh, entire Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, some parts Vidarbha and Telangana, some more parts of Andhra Pradesh, Westcentral & northwest Bay of Bengal, some parts of Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, entire Sub Himalayan West Bengal and some more parts of Bihar during subsequent 2-3 days.”
