Cuttack: After a gap of two years due to Covid-19, the Raja festival brought smiles to the faces of many including the children living in slums within Cuttack city.
Raja, one of the most popular festivals of Odisha, is an amalgamation of tradition along with fun, frolic, and delicacies.
While many looked forward to merry-making and soiree with family and friends, a voluntary organisation ‘No Tears Foundation’ celebrated the festival with slum children.
The parents of the children living in the slums go to work every day. They are financially deprived of the opportunity to celebrate any festival.
Members of the organisation put on a smile on the faces of these children by distributing new clothes, delicacies like Poda Pitha, and playing on swings with them.
