Keonjhar: A woman attempted self-immolation by pouring kerosene on herself in front of the SP office in Keonjhar alleging inaction by police in tracing her minor daughter who has been missing for over a fortnight.
Reportedly, the woman identified as Manjita Rout had lodged a complaint about her daughter at the Town Police Station on June 2. She again apprised the matter to the District Collector and SP on June 6.
But as she has not received any news regarding her daughter till date, Manjita tried to set herself on fire in front of the SP office. Police immediately arrived on the scene and stopped her.
She again met SP Mitrabhanu Mahapatra and asked him to bring back her daughter. The SP has said that the girl will be rescued as soon as possible.
