Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate of Police will be soon examining associates of deceased actress Rashmirekha Ojha, one of whom was apparently living-in with her. According to the police, her live-in partner of Ojha was not in the city when she resorted to the extreme step.
Earlier on Monday, DCP Prateek Singh had said that the investigating officer of the case is in constant touch with her friend and he would be quizzed as soon as he reaches Bhubaneswar.
This apart, statement of other members of Ojha’s friend circle will also be recorded to ascertain facts. While prima facie it appears to be a case of suicide, the investigation will remain open from all angles, the police said.
Another male friend of the deceased is also likely to be interrogated, sources added. While this appears to be a case of suicide, the investigators have not yet ruled out an instance of abetment.
The young Odia teleserial actress died by committing suicide at her rented house in Nayapali two days back. The house owner informed her family following which the police arrived and discovered her body hanging from the ceiling.
Though no official complaint has been registered, Rashmirekha’s family has been levelling allegations against her live-in partner before the media. The police have however said that the actress was supposedly under depression which led to the mishap.
