Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate Police has made elaborate security arrangements for the smooth running of the Monsoon Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly (OLA) starting from July 2.
Police Commissioner Saumendra Priyadarshi, Director of Intelligence, Bhubaneswar DCP, and other senior officials reviewed the security situation in the assembly today.
A three-tier security system will be put in place for the session. Nearly 30-platoons of the police force will be deployed, including 11 ACPs, 13 Inspectors, and 62 senior police officers. There will also be 2 units of STUs and 6 additional DCPs.
The traffic DCP will inspect the traffic system. Dog squads and bomb squads will also be deployed. All of them will be working under the supervision of the Bhubaneswar DCP.
The session will have 24 working days and is scheduled to end on August 4. Out of the 24 business days planned for the session two days have been marked for private members’ business.
The working hours of the current session have been extended by one hour. The session will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
