Jagatsinghpur: A youth from Jagatsinghpur district of Odisha allegedly committed suicide after losing lakhs by playing online games.
The deceased has been identified as Debendra Parida, son of Bhagaban Parida of Bhuasuni village under Balikuda police limits in Jagatsinghpur district.
Reportedly, Debendra was a businessman man who had received around Rs 3 lakh by selling food grains. However, he was addicted to online games and lost more than Rs 2 lakh to it.
He was under depression and it is suspected that he took the extreme step after being scolded by his family.
The family was taking his body for cremation when police came to know about it and intercepted them. Police seized his body and sent it for autopsy. A case of unnatural death has been registered in this connection.
