Sundargarh: The first canopy bridge for wildlife has been inaugurated on the State Highway connecting Barsuan with Tensa under Bonai Forest Division in Sundargarh district.
Reportedly, as the road is passing through a dense forest, many wild animals such as monkeys, squirrels, etc. get killed by coming under heavy vehicles.
In view of this problem, under the guidance of the Regional Chief Conservator of Forests, Rourkela Circle, the canopy bridge has been introduced on an experimental basis in collaboration with SAIL.
As a result, the wild animals would move through the canopy bridge from side to side without crossing the road and save their lives.
