Malkangiri: A 28-year-old cadre Maoist, Laxman Podiami alias Laxman Kurami was arrested from Tulsi reserve forest area under Mathili police limits on Sunday.
Podiami, a native of Darva in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar district was arrested during a search operation by the SOG and DVF last night.
Podiami is a Party Member of Mahupadar LGS under Kangerghati Area Committee of DKSZC and involved in many cases of Malkangiri district as well as Chhattisgarh. He joined the Maoist group in the year 2017.
Prior to his joining Podiami was working as a militia member for the Maoists. He was carrying a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh announced by the Odisha Government.
